The Spirit of American Liberal Theology. The American tradition of modern theology, though not as top-heavy with iconic thinkers as the German tradition, is nonetheless the most creative, interesting, and accomplished in the world, and it remains ongoing. This lecture is a gloss on my four volumes on the history of American theological liberalism.
