Silver Bay YMCA Ticonderoga Teen Center Receives Sylvamo Grant
Sylvamo awards $8,000 grant to Ticonderoga Teen Center
Silver Bay YMCA is pleased to announce that the Silver Bay YMCA Ticonderoga Teen Center has been awarded a grant of $8,000 from Sylvamo.
The Silver Bay YMCA Ticonderoga Teen Center is a free drop-in program for Ticonderoga teens in grades 6 through 12. The Teen Center is open during the school year and provides a safe space where teens can hang out after school, receive homework help, learn life skills such as cooking, or participate in one of the many structured activities that take place at the Teen Center.
“The team at Sylvamo’s Ticonderoga Mill is proud to support the Teen Center in Ticonderoga. The center is an important community outreach of Silver Bay YMCA and provides a safe, nurturing place for the youth in our community to gather. We sincerely appreciate Silver Bay’s commitment and their dedicated staff for making this a great place for kids,” said Lindsay Mydlarz, communications manager for the Ticonderoga Mill.
Walt Lender, Silver Bay YMCA’s VP of Development & Government Relations, added, “We know we have a great partner with Sylvamo’s Ticonderoga Mill. Their support for our Teen Center is critical to our ability to expand the services we are providing to our area teens. Youth development in the North Country plays a key role in supporting a healthy community and developing a thriving economy.”
The funding provided by Sylvamo will help cover the costs and expenses associated with running the Teen Center.
“We are so thankful for the generous support of Sylvamo. They are a great community partner, and we are honored to be included in their support of programs that have a positive impact on the lives of Ticonderoga residents. This grant allows us to continue to expand our services to the youth of Ticonderoga, helping them lead productive and fulfilling lives,” concluded Silver Bay YMCA CEO Peter Doliber.
