Silver Bay Council proudly hosts Tidy Time, a beloved volunteer tradition that began in the late 1960s. Each spring and fall, members of the Silver Bay Council, Silver Bay staff, and community volunteers come together to help prepare and enhance the campus through a variety of improvement and maintenance projects.
Tidy Time weekends are open to everyone. Families, individuals, and guests who are not Council members are warmly welcome to participate, enjoy the camaraderie, and take advantage of the special discounted weekend lodging rate.
To qualify for the special rate, volunteers are asked to contribute a minimum of six (6) hours of work per day.
Volunteer projects are organized into five categories:
-
Special Projects – Building, repairs, and painting projects
-
Grounds & Landscaping – Raking leaves, gardening, maintaining courts, and general campus beautification
-
Trails – Trail maintenance and clearing
-
Housekeeping – Cottage inventory, cleaning, and seasonal preparation
-
Light Duty – Craft projects such as ornament painting, organizing the craft shop, and other tasks that can be done while seated
Tidy Time is a meaningful opportunity to give back, connect with the Silver Bay community, and help preserve the campus experience for future generations.
