Silver Bay YMCA VP of Development and Government Relations Walt Lender Stated.

“We are deeply honored to receive this grant in support of our Teen Center, a place that provides safety, connection, and opportunities for young people in our community. In the past, this funding has been vital in helping us meet emergency housing needs, and we’re thrilled to now extend that impact by investing in our teens’ growth and well-being. Coming on the heels of being named Large Nonprofit of the Year by the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce, this recognition reinforces the strength of our partnerships and the incredible trust our community places in our mission.”

“The Silver Bay YMCA Ticonderoga Teen Center is an essential part of our community, providing teens with a safe, welcoming place to learn, grow, and connect,” said Jackie Palandrani, Education Director at Silver Bay YMCA.

“Each day, our teens have access to academic support, opportunities to develop life skills such as cooking, and the chance to build meaningful friendships, all within a positive and supportive environment designed to help them thrive.”

The Silver Bay YMCA Ticonderoga Teen Center is a free drop-in program for teens in the Hague, Ticonderoga, and Putnum area and is open five days a week during the school year. At the Teen Center participants have the option to participate in structured programming such as cooking lessons, receive homework help, or hangout with friends.
