Ticonderoga
– Silver Bay YMCA is excited to announce that the Silver Bay YMCA Ticonderoga Teen Center has been awarded a Generous Acts grant from the Adirondack Foundation for the amount of $7,500.

This grant will be used for program enhancement in the Teen Center and recognizes the vital role the Teen Center’s work plays in strengthening the community.

“We’re honored to continue our partnership with the Adirondack Foundation in support of the Ticonderoga Teen Center. This space plays a vital role in nurturing the social and emotional well-being of our local youth, offering a safe and supportive environment for growth and connection. We deeply appreciate the foundation’s commitment to investing in the next generation and recognizing the Teen Center’s significance within our community,” said Vice President of Development and Government Relations at Silver Bay YMCA, Walt Lender.

The Silver Bay YMCA Teen Center is a free drop-in program for teens 13-years-old to 18-years-old at 123 Champlain Avenue in Ticonderoga during the school year. Teens can participate in structured programming, receive homework help, learn life skills such as cooking, meet new people, have a safe space to hang out with friends, and more!

Silver Bay YMCA Education Director Jackie Palandrani added, “Thanks to the support of the Adirondack Foundation, we’re able to offer young people transformative experiences—from college tours that open doors to their futures to engaging activities that build confidence and community. It’s incredibly meaningful to work alongside organizations that are dedicated to making these opportunities accessible to every youth, regardless of financial barriers.”
