Clean Pain, Dirty Pain: Grounded Living When Things Get Hard
The Buddha famously proclaimed, “All life is suffering.”  While we don’t get to choose whether we have pain in our lives, we do get to choose how we’ll respond.  We’ll explore ancient spiritual practices, and the wisdom of Resmaa Menakem, author of My Grandmother’s Hands, to guide us to a more settled and whole life.
 

Rev. Barbara Lemmel is an ordained United Methodist Pastor, currently serving Harvard-Epworth United Methodist Church in Cambridge MA.  She also works as a trained Spiritual Director and PCC-certified Leadership Coach.  She is Coordinator of the New England Parish Consultants.

   Barbara is the Director of Tending the Fire, a leadership development process that enables leaders to embrace and transform the anxiety that can paralyze churches moving through deep change.  Since 2003, Tending the Fire has offered wise, resilient guidance to clergy, laity and judicatory leadership in multiple denominations.  

   Barbara is committed to ministry that is transformational and fun, empowering graceful and courageous leaders and congregations.
