Silver Bay YMCA – Conference and Family Retreat Center on the shores of Lake George is the ideal location for your next conference, family reunion, family vacation, weddings, and team building & leadership training.  Whether you’re bringing your board of directors or a scout troop, Silver Bay has activities and programs for each member of your group. Silver Bay’s waterfront campus is 700-acres of fun within the Adirondack Park of New York State.


Silver Bay has a variety of accommodations to fit all groups’ needs and budgets, from private-bath rooms and shared-bath rooms in historic buildings to private cottages located on the periphery of the campus. Rooms include meals and activities.


At the heart of Silver Bay are dozens of activities for all ages. Learn lifetime activities including archery, boating, crafts, music, nature, and much more. As a  organization comprised of 1500 families from the local community, throughout the Northeast and around the world, we offer a place for all. As a guest of Silver Bay YMCA, you can swim and paddle on one of the cleanest lakes in the world, hike our many groomed trails, or relax on the Inn porch in one of our famous rockers.


Silver Bay also offers an array of meeting spaces to fit the needs of your group; ranging from quaint enclosed pavilions and historic halls to a 700 person Auditorium. As a courtesy to all conferences and groups, Silver Bay provides standard audio/visual as well as conferencing equipment and set up at no additional charge.

Silver Bay is designed for enjoying the beauty of Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains, rest, relaxation and reconnecting with friends and family. In order to maintain a tranquil atmosphere, rooms are not equipped with phones or televisions. Cancellation penalties may apply. Please see our Reservations page  for more information.

Adult Beverages

Silver Bay has a restricted alcohol policy. Silver Bay may allow adult beverages for special events through an application and policy approval process. For more information please contact Conference Services. To view Silver Bay’s alcohol policy please click here.


At check-in each guest listed on your reservation will receive a badge to be worn while on campus. This badge is used for admission to program areas and to the dining hall if your reservation includes meals.

Campus Map

Meals are included in the rates for guests staying on the Silver Bay Campus unless otherwise indicated or arranged. We offer delicious, well-balanced, buffet-style meals for our members and guests served in our Dining Hall.  Food and snacks are also available at The Store and Fisher Lounge.

Drone Policy

The use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), including, but not limited to, drones and radio-controlled aircraft and devices, in airspace above Silver Bay YMCA requires advance written approval. Silver Bay YMCA places the highest priority on the privacy and safety of guests and staff, as well as avoiding disruption and maintaining tranquility throughout the property. To this end, personal drone use is not permitted on property or in the airspace above Silver Bay YMCA. For catering, conference and wedding events contracted on property, professional vendors may request Silver Bay YMCA’s advance written permission for drone photography and filming exclusively within the contracted event venue.

Gift Shop

The Wilson Gift Shop, located in the Inn lobby, has a beautiful array of Silver Bay mementos, t-shirts and sweatshirts, toys, books, decorative home items, handcrafted jewelry, clothing and more!

First Aid Station

During the summer season a health care professional is on call 24 hours/day, 7 days/week for first aid and emergencies. Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with a signed consent for their treatment.


There is a coin operated laundry room available to all guests located on the lower level of the Administration building.

Program participation and membership in the Silver Bay YMCA represents not only an acknowledgment of our mission, principles and structure; it also demonstrates a willingness to personally endorse and encourage them. All who come to Silver Bay YMCA are required to be a member or registered program participant. Silver Bay YMCA expects its members and program participant to respect all other members, program participants, guests, staff and the Silver Bay YMCA property, and to comply with policies and practices established for the Silver Bay YMCA community. Members, program participants and/or groups who fail to adhere to requirements, policies and practices (which include adherence to all local, state and national laws) or whose behavior does not adhere to the Mission of the Silver Bay YMCA may be asked to leave Silver Bay YMCA without compensation and may have their membership and program privileges terminated.


Determinations regarding membership and program participation status are at the sole discretion of management and subject to change without notice. A condition of membership and program participation is the awareness and understanding of the Silver Bay YMCA Mission, values, practices and policies. However, no statement, regardless of how well written it is, will encompass all that is deemed unacceptable in our community. If members and/or program participants have questions or concerns, management will promptly respond. When you arrive on-campus please proceed to the front desk to check-in, pick-up your badge and obtain a parking tag.


For those staying in cottages, Paine Hall, Trinity House and Brookside Community House, your parking is next to/nearby your accommodation. The remaining guests are invited to unload/load at their accommodation, where designated parking for a maximum of 15 minutes is provided. After unloading please park in the new main lot located at the end of the service road, near 9N.


For our off-campus members there are several designated day-use lots located at Archery, the Children’s Pavilion, the Ice Cream Store, the Tennis Backboard and Fisher Gym. If those areas are full, you are invited to utilize our new main lot parking area.


Handicap parking spaces are located across campus from Slim Point to Archery, behind the Dining Hall and also in the new main parking area. For those who have a physical limitation and/or during inclement weather, a shuttle service will be available for transport. Please let a staff person know and they will arrange for a pick-up.


Please do not parallel park on the service road, in the Inn Circle, or any other spot that is not designated for guest parking.

Programs & Activities

Plan your stay by visiting our website to become familiar with all that Silver Bay has to offer. Please note there are some programs that require registration and additional fees. You are welcome to sign up prior to your arrival for these programs. A schedule of program hours and activities can be found in The Breeze, our program guide is available at the Front Desk, Concierge, or on our website.


Due to the limitations of cell phone use in the area, phones located in the Inn lobby and on the front porch which can be used with a calling card or credit card. If a family member needs to reach you, our number is 518-543-8833, press 8. A message will be taken and your name will posted on the message board on the south side of the Inn Lobby.


For those guests who wish to stay a little more connected, we have wireless internet access across campus.

First-time guests get 20% off their first stay at Silver Bay. If you’ve referred them for a qualifying stay, you’ll receive (1) One free Basic Family Membership for 2018, a $120 value*. Refer additional friends and family and receive (2) two family day passes, a $110 value* for the summer of 2018 or 2019 for every additional qualifying referral.


Terms and Conditions:
Qualifying reservations must be new reservations for 3 or more nights made by the first-timer for a stay between 6/24/19 – 8/16/19. Reservations must be booked no later than 6/1/19 to receive this offer.

Not valid for group or conference stays.

A first-timer is someone who hasn’t been attached to any Silver Bay reservation or individual stay and who have not held a Silver Bay membership within the past 5 years. This is a great opportunity to encourage former EMPS, friends, and family who haven’t been to Silver Bay Recently to come back. First-time guests must provide the referrers name at the time of reservation.

Fire regulations prohibit smoking in all rooms and buildings on campus. Guests may smoke in the Inn courtyard, as well as at the flagpole in front of the Inn. Please dispose of your cigarette butts in the receptacles located at various spots on campus.


Visitors are welcome to purchase a daily membership and program pass to enjoy the Silver Bay campus. Memberships are purchased at the Front Desk.
